Happy Groundhog Day

Every year we anxiously await Groundhog Day and Punxsutawney Phil’s prediction if there will be an early spring or six more weeks of winter.  Although this is a fun tradition, Groundhogs, and any burrowing rodent in general, can wreak havoc on your lawn, your garden and your landscape.

Groundhogs are large, ground-dwelling rodents found mainly on the East Coast, and are very prevalent in Northern Kentucky.  Northern Kentucky is also home to another common burrowing rodent, the mole.  Burrowing animals are a major nuisance and can be difficult to manage, especially in and around our homes and landscapes. The safest and most effective way to control these pests is by trapping, exclusion, and habitat modification.

Even though Phil predicted 6 more weeks of winter, now is the time to start thinking about caring for your lawn and completing those landscape projects that you have been putting off.  Contact the professionals at Lancaster Lawn & Landscaping, LLC for all of you lawn care and landscaping needs.
